It is important not to be confused with metaphors, allusions. The allusion is a reference to a historical, mythological or literary or event which, in the context of the work in question. Most of the allusions in "Romeo and Juliet" are classics that have to do with the Greek and Roman mythology.

Her vestal livery is but sick and green
And not stupid, but they use it to leave.
(This is an allusion to the Vestal Virgins, priestesses of the female of the Roman moon goddess Vesta) is

On the wings of love, light, I o'er perch these walls;
(Minor Roman god Cupid, son of Venus)

In love with perjury say Jupiter laughs
(Jupiter is the Romanized version of the Greek god Zeus. Pantheon Summit.)

Another thing was the cave where Echo lies to break,
(related to the legend of Narcissus and Echo).
